What Meety collects, how it is used and the controls on every account.

One account for learning and teaching. This page explains what that requires in data, and nothing more.

Section 01 of 14

Introduction

Meety is a learning marketplace operated by [Legal entity name]. Members book 1:1 sessions, join groups, take courses, buy digital assets and read articles from mentors. This policy explains what information Meety collects, how it is used, what is shared and which controls every account holder has. It applies to the Meety website, the installable app and all support channels.

If any part of this policy is unclear, please contact [Support email] before using the service.

Section 02 of 14

Definitions

Account means an individual Meety account used for learning, teaching or both. Content means anything an account holder posts, uploads or sends, including posts, comments, messages, files, courses, articles and reviews. Member means an account holder who books, joins, enrols or buys. Mentor means an account holder who is verified and offers sessions, courses, groups or digital assets.

Section 03 of 14

Information provided directly

Identity and contact. Full name, username, email address, phone number, password, date of birth, gender, profession, languages, timezone and location details including country, state, city and address. Address details are used for invoices only.

Profile content. Photographs, cover images, biography and about text, education, experience, certifications, expertise areas and social links the holder chooses to add.

Mentor verification. Legal name, birth year, profession, organisation, a short professional background and identity documents such as a national ID card, a passport or a driving licence. Verification documents stay private and are visible only to the account holder and the review team. They are used only to decide verification and to display the verified badge.

User content. Posts, polls, comments, replies, stories, articles, course materials, assignments, group discussion, messages including voice notes, shared files and links, reactions, reviews and ratings.

Booking and purchase records. Session types booked and slots taken, meeting attendance records, course enrolments and progress, group memberships and subscriptions, product and article purchases, invoices and receipts, payout method details and withdrawal requests. Card numbers are validated and then discarded. They are never stored by Meety.

Support communications. Tickets, messages and attachments sent to the support team.

Section 04 of 14

Information collected automatically

Sign-in and security events. Sign-in attempts, trusted devices with IP address and last use, and two-factor events.

Activity records. An activity log of actions in the account, which the holder can view and delete at any time.

Device preferences stored locally. Theme choice, translation target language and never translate list, recommendation counters, onboarding draft, last lesson position, recent searches and dismissed banners.

Section 05 of 14

Information received from third parties

Social sign-in. When signing in with Google or LinkedIn, Meety receives the basic profile details needed to create the account.

Meeting providers. When a mentor connects a Google or Zoom account for meetings, Meety receives the connection details needed to create meeting links.

Section 06 of 14

How information is used

Information is used for the following purposes and for nothing else. Operate the account and keep the holder signed in across visits and devices. Deliver the service, since sessions, courses, groups, digital assets, articles, messages and search all run on the stored records described above. Process payments and payouts, where checkout runs on Stripe hosted pages and withdrawals run through the payout method the mentor saved. Decide mentor verification and display the verified badge. Keep the service safe, including fraud prevention, investigating reports against the published rules, enforcing suspensions and bans, and handling ban appeals. Communicate, including booking confirmations, payment confirmations, renewal and reminder emails, withdrawal updates and responses to support tickets. Marketing email can be switched off in notification settings.

Section 07 of 14

What Meety never does

Meety does not sell personal information. Meety runs no third-party advertising or behavioural tracking software. There are no analytics cookies and no advertising cookies. Card numbers never reach Meety servers. Stripe is the vault for payment details.

Section 08 of 14

Sharing

Sharing is limited to what operating the service requires. Payment processing with Stripe under Stripe's own policy. Payout processing with the mobile banking, card or bank provider the mentor selects. Social sign-in with Google or LinkedIn during sign-in only. Meeting link creation with Google or Zoom only when a mentor connects them. GIF search with Giphy only when the GIF picker is opened. Machine translation of a post or comment only when the user taps translate. A link pasted into a post may be fetched once by Meety servers to build the preview card. Information may be disclosed where required by law or where needed to prevent harm, fraud or abuse of the service.

Section 09 of 14

User controls

Privacy settings cover who can see profile items, posts, courses, groups and connections, who can contact the holder, comment, mention or search for them, whether search engines may index the profile, and whether activity status is shown. Group level privacy covers who inside a group can send messages, who can view the profile from the member list and whether the member appears in the member list at all. Notification settings cover in-app and email switches for sessions, earnings, feedback, reviews and platform announcements, including reminder timing. Security controls cover passkey management, the trusted device list with one or all revocation, backup code regeneration and password change. Activity log entries can be viewed and deleted by the holder at any time.

Section 10 of 14

Age

Meety accounts require the holder to be at least 13 years old. Date of birth is asked during onboarding. Mentor verification and selling require the holder to be at least 18 years old.

Section 11 of 14

Retention and deletion

Records are kept while the account is active and for as long as needed to operate the service, prevent fraud, resolve disputes and meet legal obligations. Activity log entries can be deleted by the holder at any time. Meety does not currently offer self-service account deletion. To request deletion of an account and its personal data, contact [Support email]. Requests are handled in the order received within [Response window]. Transactional and safety records needed for fraud prevention and legal obligations may be retained after deletion as the law allows.

Section 12 of 14

Security

Connections to Meety use HTTPS. Access to stored data is limited to the systems and team members who need it for the purposes in section 6. Every account is protected by required email verification and by password rules checked as the password is typed. Optional protections include two-factor with an authenticator app, email codes and backup codes, passkeys, trusted devices with revocation, and single use password reset links that expire after 60 minutes. No method is perfectly secure. Holders should use a unique password, keep backup codes somewhere safe and revoke devices they no longer own.

Section 13 of 14

Changes to this policy

Material changes will be announced in the product before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date means acceptance of the updated policy.

Section 14 of 14
